BSNL Services Under Upgradation
Since 1 April 2009, telecom services of BSNL in Andaman & Nicobar Islands have been affected due to unexpected
failure of transponders in INSAT 3E satellite. Although BSNL had reconfigured
the links to the extent feasible, the services were running at reduced
capacity. BSNL has now been able to lease additional capacity on a newly
launched satellite. The migration activity in a staggered fashion is planned to
be executed, commencing this week. Due to this, telecom services such as
landline, broadband, GSM and WLL, are liable to be interrupted at different
locations for different time spells, during the next two weeks. BSNL requests
all its customers to bear with any inconvenience that this unavoidable process
may entail.
